Audition for the Old Gem Theater
From time-to-time the Old Gem Theater holds auditions for professional acting company to fill adult roles in our plays for youth. Watch MNplaylist for dates.
Info for adult actors:
We seek men and women 20 years old and up. Old Gem Theater students will also be in some of the productions so experience working with kids is a plus. Artistic Director is Kathy Welch.
Auditions will be scheduled by appointment: [email protected], no calls please. Actors may audition for one production or entire season.
Performances: The shows are presented for school field trips on weekdays, generally at 10 am and 12:30 pm. Anywhere from 5 to 20 weekday shows may be booked depending on demand. Public performances are usually scheduled for one weekend during the run.
Rehearsals: When Old Gem students are in the shows rehearsals are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. When it is an all-adult cast, rehearsal times are negotiated with the cast, daytimes are usually preferred.
Preparation: Please bring photo, resume and a prepared comic monologue. We are not hiring Equity performers at this time.
Pay: Actors are paid a $300 rehearsal stipend plus $50 per performance. Additional fees are paid for touring shows.
